In August of 2018 Lex made his way to Brazil to visit Daterra farms. Brazil is one of the largest coffee producing countries in the world and their coffees are known for their chocolate and nut flavour notes. It's almost always some combination of chocolate and nuts. Daterra have a large farm producing a range of varieties and more than half of the farm is a national wildlife reserve, which is cool.
They are also experimenting with a lot of different processes, which led to one of their coffees winning the World Brewers Championship in 2019. (It wasn't just tasting like chocolate and nuts)
Emi Fukahori from Mame took the price using the Laurina variety with a semi-carbonic maceration. It was also roasted by us ;-). Anyway, heres the film.
